While building a pickleball court is a huge deal as well as an achievement to be a pickler. However, before you get started, I’d like to clarify your concept. 

For example, you may want to have a less facility court like your yard might be settled for a court which may prevent you from extra expenses. 

Or you might want to install some high-quality products which may cause pricey. But yet, I’m going to guide you about each type of court building. 

1. Building Pickleball Court From Scratch

As you know the cost of building a court relies on the demands you’re looking for in the pickleball court.

The Pickleball court dimension is 44 long and 20 feet wide which is almost the same as a badminton court.

But I recommend having at least 60 feet long and 30 feet wide.  However, the surfaces are completely different between them.

  • Concrete Installation: $7,000
  • Paint: It really depends on you what kind of paint you’re going to use.
  • Net: $100 to $1000
  • Fencing: $5,000
  • Lighting: $6,500: Try to purchase a quality lighting system so that you don’t face any problems in the future.
  • Pickleball Accessories: $60 to $100

This’s the overall price for building a pickleball court which reaches up to $30000. However, the price may come down or up if you’re using something extra or less than the above-given list.

In addition, the asphalt court price could be very low as compared to the concrete one. That’s why if you’re under a tight budget and want to have your own court.

You can also go with asphalt however, you should go with concrete if there’s no budget issue.

So this is the overall price of building a court from scratch that you need to have for building a perfect pickleball court in your place.

However, the price would be very less as compared to concrete courts if you want to build an asphalt court.

But converting a tennis court into a pickleball one is somehow tricky. And you can convert temporarily as well as permanently. 

However, if you want to convert it permanently, you’d need to have full authority or you should ask for permission from its real owner.

The cost of converting the tennis court is almost under $1000. It’s very important to know the tennis court’s surface. Moreover, it wouldn’t be playable if it’s clay.
